“Change the law and let’s celebrate it” – Apache Indian’s new anthem calls for caste justice in the UK

Protest track, written for the Anti Caste Discrimination Alliance (ACDA), fuels renewed calls for legal reform.

Apache Indian launches protest anthem “Discrimination (Don’t Want It No More)”, backing calls to outlaw caste discrimination in the UK.

London, 12 November 2025 — British singer-songwriter and multi-platinum artist Apache Indian BEM has today released a powerful new protest anthem in support of renewed efforts by campaigners and politicians to outlaw caste discrimination in the UK.

The single, “Discrimination (Don’t Want It No More)” — produced by Devinder J Music and accompanied by a striking video crafted by the acclaimed singer-songwriter and visual artist Marry Waterson — will be discussed on 12 November 2025 at a meeting in the Houses of Parliament.

Written for the Anti Caste Discrimination Alliance (ACDA), the track opens with a rallying cry: “It’s all about ACDA, gonna make a difference today — hear what I say.”

Apache’s lyrics capture the frustration of decades of delay: “We’ve been waiting, anticipating, we’re debating — stop all the hating. We not taking — no more hesitating. Change the law and let’s celebrate it!”

For decades, campaigners have urged the UK Government to recognise caste discrimination as unlawful under the Equality Act 2010. Although Parliament granted Ministers the power to add caste as a protected characteristic, successive Governments have failed to act — despite clear evidence of harm, including missed promotions, unequal pay, bullying, harassment, and verbal abuse.

Quotes

Apache Indian BEM:  “I wrote a song called ‘Caste System’ on my first album ‘No Reservations’ back in 1992. I’ve continued to support the campaign and the movement to bring about real change in people’s minds — and in the law.

I’ve put all my passion and energy into this new song to help raise awareness of the campaign led by the Anti Caste Discrimination Alliance. The time has come to recognise caste discrimination — and discrimination as a whole — in the UK and across the world we live in.”

Marry Waterson: “It was an honour to contribute to this important project. I wanted to reflect Apache’s message of positivity, love, change, and light as the way forward. We should all be treated as equals, caste discrimination is unjust and indefensible”

Santosh Dass MBE, Chair of ACDA: “Apache Indian’s words give fresh strength to our campaign. More and more trade unions are calling for caste discrimination to be outlawed. The Government must listen to those suffering from caste discrimination — not to the caste deniers and scaremongers.”
