United Nations Committee for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (UNCERD) following its 79th Session in September 2011 made a recommendation that the Minister responsible in the State party invoke section 9(5)(a) of the Equality Act 2010 to provide for “caste to be an aspect of race” in order to provide remedies to victims of this form of Discrimination

In 2011, the ACDA produced and submitted a shadow joint statement/report to the UNCERD for its 79th Session on the need for Caste discrimination to be outlawed in the UK.

In 2013, ACDA invited Ms Navi Pillay, UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights to a meeting in the House of Lords to speak about Caste discrimination in the UK
